Irina Mocanu, Law Clerk
Irina Mocanu liaises with our clients and focuses on client development and contract matters. Ms. Mocanu has academic and professional background in both civil law and common law jurisdictions.
Ms. Mocanu graduated with a LL.M. degree in the prestigious White and Case International Arbitration program from University of Miami School of Law. In addition, she holds a LL.B. degree from Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne Law School in Paris, France.
During her time at University of Miami she worked on a project relating cost management in international arbitration led by Professor Jan Paulsson and Miami Law’s International Arbitration Institute (IAI) in collaboration with the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). She was also part of the Willem C. Vis Moot team on behalf of University of Miami and was a finalist for the Budapest Pre-Moot.
Prior to joining Malescu Law PA, Ms. Mocanu worked in both arbitration and transnational litigation within Schoenherr SCA at their Bucharest Office where she also handled transactional work. At Schoenherr SCA she assisted attorneys with deposition, hearing and trial preparation for property, commercial, intellectual property and insolvency cases. In addition, Ms. Mocanu trained in the European Parliament, the International Commercial Arbitration Court in Bucharest, the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Romanian Constitutional Court.
