Success! We recently had a B2 Extension of Status Approved by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) for a foreign visitor in a relatively short period of time. In this case, the foreign visitor wanted to extend their stay to travel across the United States and attend various events in Florida, including Miami Open Tennis Tournament.
The B2 extension was filed with USCIS before the applicant’s I-94 B2 status expired. The I-539 B2 extension was approved without a Request for Further Evidence (RFE) and for the entire period requested. The overall processing time for the B2 Extension from the time it was submitted and until it was successfully approved by USCIS was approximately 2 months.
If you are in the United States on a B1/B2 visa or you are a Canadian travelling to the United States in B1/B2 status and you want to extend your stay, then you need to request an extension of your B1 or B2 visa status with USCIS before your current B1/B2 status recorded on your I-94 record expires. Extensions of B1 and B2 status are not easily granted by USCIS.
If you want to apply for B1 or B2 Status Extension to extend your stay in the United States, contact our experienced immigration lawyers in Miami, Florida USA or schedule a consultation to discuss your visa and find out more about the B1/B2 status extension and other visa options for you from our best visa lawyers.
